Christmas cheer is in the air at Nepean Private Hospital
Patients and visitors that attended Nepean Private Hospital in December may have been mistaken in thinking that Santa had made a stop off a little earlier than expected.
The kind hearted team wanted to assist in providing christmas cheer to families in the local Penrith area that may be doing it tough at this time of year.
From early December staff were dropping off a large assortment of presents under a big Christmas tree in the hospital's foyer for the Penrith Salvation Army.
Simon Rodger, General Manager Nepean Private Hospital, explained that large tubs and laundry baskets that sat under the Christmas tree were labelled with specific age ranges and gender to ensure a large assortment of gifts were donated that met all requirements.
“It is the first time our team have participated in the Salvation Army toy drive and the team have certainly dug deep with a focus on wanting to give back to the community,” said Simon.
The team's efforts have amounted to presents for 20 local families.
“This time of year there are a lot of people less fortunate than us and if we can help, we want to be a part of that," said Simon.
